Range Cookers Fuel Types

Gas range cookers require both an electrical connection and a gas supply. There a few things to beware of when purchasing gas range cookers, the cooker must specifically state which type of gas is required (Natural Gas or LPG) as they are NOT interchangable and electricity is needed to power the timer/clock and on most 90cm range cookers the tall oven on the right hand side is electric aswell.

Dual fuel range cookers are the prefered choice for many, offering a combination of energy sources, giving you the instant heat provided by gas hobs plus the efficiency of (often two) electric ovens. All dual fuel range cookers can be converted to LPG (bottled gas) so mains gas is not necessary. Electric ovens ensure a constant temperature throughout and according to many are more efficient than gas.

Ceramic range cookers are an ideal choice for those without a mains gas supply, all ceramic range cookers require harwiring and often go beyond the usual 32 amps fuse needed by most range cookers. Although they are considered more efficient than gas, newer hob technology is available that is even more energy conserving and responsive to the users requirments.

Induction range cookers are considered faster, more efficient and alot safer to use. Transfering heat directly to the pan ensures that no energy is wasted, although these cookers carry quite substantial increase in price many consider it to be worthwhile for the extra benefits gained by choosing induction. click here for more

LPG Range Cookers are few and far between, the main supplier of LPG range cookers are Rangemaster who provide an option for most people. LPG cookers run on bottled gas on the hobs and the ovens, although on 90cm versions you may find the tall oven on the right hand side is electric.
